Interesting Snapshot of Retail on 60 Minutes
60 Minutes’ Charles Wooley’s story on retail tonight was interesting if not detailed or in-depth, well I suppose that is left to ABC & SBS.
He spoke to:
- Net-a-Porter Founder Natalie Massenet, inspiring woman and a great business woman! I am a huge fan of the site as well as their expertise as online retailers
- Surfstitch Founders (Justin Cameron and Lex Pederson – who have grown exponentially since they started their online business 3 years ago
- Glitzern owners Caroline Price and Moira Rogers – who are closing their Melbourne store, in the laneways of the city, because they can’t afford to stay open and moving online
- International Fashion Group‘s David Mendels who is absolutely butting heads with the online revolution. He is not embracing it and integrating it into his business. He is not alone sadly.
I would have liked to have seen a bricks and mortar store with a well integrated online presence as well.
Tuesday on Insight on SBS they are addressing Retail, I think it will be far more in-depth – I would love to be part of the in-studio discussion!!
At least the spotlight is being placed on the retail industry hey?!
