Quick question! Are social media overlords using ‘trends’, trending music, dances, clothes, memes, mimes, tricks etc, to get people used to conforming?

What if using trending music, doing the same dance everyone is doing, eating the same thing, going to the same places, wearing the same thing etc was all a way to get humans used to conforming in line with what the owners of tech companies / governments want?? Users are being trained to follow instruction and do what everyone else is doing.

Computers, robots / bots, AI are all at the control of a few with very different ideas to what makes human existence worthwhile (allegedly in my opinion). Kara Swisher has been observing the ‘tech authoriatism’ since the beginning and knows the players personally. She warns of their behaviour because there are currently ‘no guardrails’, more here. At the end of this clip, Kara talks about the women who are actually doing good and they WERE married to the Tech Oligarch men. They have taught users that being the same as others is the goal. The reward? Clicks / Likes / Shares / Follows. For a handful they become ‘influencers’, for the majority they become sheep who follow the influencers.

The interesting thing is that it does appeal to the human need to connect / belong to a tribe or group of like minded people. It’s just this manipulation is exploiting the need to belong and be approved of, often to the detriment of the users’ quality of live.

I’ve never wanted to do what everybody else is doing. Maybe I’m not a good contender. Maybe I haven’t been trained enough. Maybe I am in the in between generation. But I can see the lack of variety and diversity in online content and offline conversation since the insta / snapchat / tiktok manipulative algorithms have been installed.

This manipulation comes from a place of fear not hope and this is what upsets me the most. The Tech Authoritarians chose fear, that’s not ok! There are so many isolated, insecure and troubled people who are vulnerable and will have their lives diminished by this manipulation.

I will explore this further and dive deeper into the actual manipulation and why but wanted to start a conversation I hope you will join. At the end of the day I believe in People Power, I believe that with information and education we will always choose humanity.

The real question I suppose is: People are easier to control if they comply. So what are the Tech Oligarchs planning that they are spending decades training people to conform??

• Peter Thiel doesn’t think the human race should endure, see for more details; he was the one who supported the USA VP into that role.
• Elon Musk bought one of the world’s biggest social platforms, drove it to a ‘bad place’, funded a presidential run, and stripped government funding, leaving people without jobs, healthcare, and more. His efforts with Doge have yielded no results, see here. He has taken billions in government grants, funded politics beyond the USA, all to the detriment of his core business, Tesla.
